Monterosso al Mare to Vernazza Trail

The portion of the Cinque Terre trail that runs from Monterosso al Mare to Vernazza is the most rugged and physically demanding section.

Hikers should be prepared for steep gradients along the rocky seaside cliffs.  You can also expect, however, to see some of the most spectacular scenery on the Italian coastline.

If you feel that the level of difficulty is too much for your skills and abilities, consider catching the train south to Vernazza or Corniglia and hiking south from either of those towns.
